    Matthew graduated from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1993 and is registered to the General Dental Council. He then took up a House Officer post in oral and maxillofacial surgery and restorative dentistry at Cardiff Dental Hospital. He then moved to Sydney, Australia, and took a position in cosmetic, restorative and implant dentistry at the United Dental Hospital.

    Matthew returned to Wales and his Senior House Officer / Registrar post in restorative dentistry at Cardiff Dental Hospital. During this time, he received training in the Nobel Biocare implant system (Glasgow and Stockholm). Matthew joined Church Road Dental Practice for his vocational training, and became a Partner at the surgery in 2006.

    Matthew has over 30 years of dental experience. He has been placing and restoring dental implants for many years and has completed several hundred successful cases. He is an active member of the Association of Dental Implantology. Matthew also has a special interest in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, including bridges, crowns, veneers, composite bonding and teeth whitening. He completed training in facial aesthetics in 2006 and has vast knowledge in this area.

    Matthew enjoys using cutting-edge technology and techniques to elevate his service and provide the best results. He takes great pride in striving to achieve the very best dentistry in a relaxed and fun environment.

    Outside of work, Matthew is happily married and has two wonderful daughters.

    Michael achieved his BDS in Wales in 1998, and joined the team at Church Road Dental in the same year.

    Michael enjoys getting to know his patients and providing a high quality service with the best care for all. He is dedicated to helping patients understand the importance of great dental hygiene through bespoke tips and education. Michael has a friendly and approachable manner and loves providing dental treatment in a comfortable and caring way.

    Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his family. His interests include sport, food and travel, and he also loves gardening when he gets some spare time!

    Jonathan graduated with a BDS with merit from the University of Wales in 2005. He went on to achieve MFDS with the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, in 2008. He has been at Church Road Dental Practice for over a decade, bringing his vast and varied experience in all aspects of dentistry.

    Jonathan loves talking his patients through their treatment options and finding the best way to help them. Whether treatment is needed to alleviate discomfort or achieve an enhanced and beautiful smile, he is always happy to help. Jonathan takes pride in providing a great service, using modern technology and techniques in a calm and welcoming practice environment. He always puts his patients first, giving them a positive experience at Church Road Dental.

    Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his family, especially his two daughters. He also loves keeping fit and cooking.

    Victoria graduated with a BDS (Hons) from Cardiff University in 2015. She went on to achieve an MSc with distinction in Implantology and the MFDS RCPS. Victoria also holds a PGCert in Contemporary Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry. She is currently undertaking the Level 5 qualification in Nutrition with the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH).

    Victoria has been at Church Road Dental Practice since 2016. She enjoys cosmetic and implant dentistry, and helping her patients achieve their dream results. She also loves all aspects of general dentistry as it allows her to get to know her patients throughout their lives. Victoria enjoys being able to make her patients feel better and more confident about themselves and their smiles with her careful treatment and friendly approach.

    Outside of work, Victoria enjoys cycling and running, and loves taking part in duathlons. She also enjoys golf, spending time with her family, and has an active interest in nutrition.

    Stephen graduated from Cardiff University in 2015. Since then, he has undergone further postgraduate training to enable him to offer Invisalign, fixed cosmetic orthodontics, composite bonding and facial aesthetics.

    Stephen takes pride in his friendly and welcoming approach, and builds a relaxed and trusting environment to help his patients feel at ease in his care. He provides high quality and pain-free dentistry tailored to every patient’s individual needs and preferences.

    Outside of work, Stephen enjoys travelling to different countries and visiting new restaurants. He also loves watching sport, particularly F1, and socialising with his family and friends.

    Mel gained his BDS at Cardiff Dental School, Wales, in 1968. He is a registered specialist in Restorative Dentistry and achieved the MFGDP (UK) with the Royal College of Surgeons, London, in 1992.

    Mel started Church Road Dental Practice in 1975 and moved the practice to the present location in 1991.

    He loves being able to use his skills and knowledge to restore his patients to full dental health. He takes pride in giving every patient the best possible experience in his care.

    Outside of work, Mel enjoys golf, gardening and being with his family.

    Lauren achieved her DipHE in Dental Hygiene in 2020 and joined the team at Church Road Dental Practice in December 2022.

    Lauren enjoys meeting new people in her role, and educating them on oral hygiene to help them improve and maintain their oral health. She believes in the importance of prevention, and takes time to help her patients understand how improving their oral health will also help with their overall general health.

    Lauren loves seeing progressive improvements in her patients’ oral health at routine maintenance appointments. One of her favourite parts of her role is being able to make a difference to her patients’ gum health through prevention.

    Outside of work, Lauren loves being outside, and particularly enjoys hiking, cycling, and going on long walks with her cockapoo, Harvey. She also enjoys baking.

    Denise gained her National Certificate in Dental Surgery Assisting at Cardiff Dental Hospital in 1991, and went on to achieve a certificate in ‘Assisting in the Care of the Patient Relating to Treatment under Conscious Sedation’ with Cardiff University of Wales, College of Medicine, in 1997. Denise then completed her diploma in Dental Hygiene (CEB) at Cardiff Dental Auxiliary School in 2000.

    Denise has been part of the team at Church Road Dental Practice since 2022. She loves her job and is a caring and dedicated hygienist. She particularly enjoys treating nervous and anxious patients, helping them overcome their fears, and takes time to build good relationships with every patient.

    Denise gets a huge amount of satisfaction when she is able to help a patient improve their oral health. She strongly believes that good oral hygiene leads to better overall general wellbeing.

    Practice Manager

    Amanda joined the team at Church Road Dental Practice in 2006 as a receptionist and administrator. After completing her studies, she was promoted to Practice Coordinator, and a year later was promoted again to the role of Practice Manager. She completed her CIPD Level 3 in Human Resources with Cardiff and Vale College in 2013.

    Amanda thoroughly enjoys all aspects of her role in the practice. She particularly loves leading a professional team and takes pride in playing a pivotal role in the growth and success of the practice.

    Amanda is an asset to Church Road Dental and continually keeps up to date with current dental standards, legislation and employment law. She hopes to gain further qualifications in HR and management in the future.
