Mel Davies BDS, MFGDP, RCS (Wales). Partner in the Church Road Dental Practice
Specialist In Restorative Dentistry

Qualified at Cardiff Dental School 1968.

After qualifying, he carried out several Hospital Posts at Cardiff Dental Hospital. He was then appointed as a Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry at the Welsh National School of Medicine and Dentistry. Teaching the subject for many years he gained sound clinical experience in restorative dentistry within a hospital / university environment. In 1976, he set up his own practice. This has evolved into 'The Church Road Dental Practice'.

He was included onto the Specialist Register for Restorative Dentistry in 2000. Entry into this list is recognition by the General Dental Council of one's expertise in the subject.

The range of dentistry he provides is extremely diverse and ranges from basic restorative work to very complex and innovative implant/cosmetic surgery.

He receives many referrals from both hospital consultants and general dental practitioners for complex restorative procedures and treatment cases involving dental implants.

He is a Dental Advisor to the National Public Health Service in Wales.

He thrives on any challenge that dentistry can offer and gains great satisfaction when he is able to fulfil his patients' needs to provide a high quality service.

He has a wonderful wife and three busy children. His interests include the occasional game of golf and gardening.

John Stokes BDS, MFGDP (Wales). Partner in the Church Road Dental Practice

John was born in Llwynypia in the Rhondda Valley. He qualified with BDS (Wales) in 1983 at Cardiff Dental School and worked in Gwent Community Dental Services until 1986.

In 1984 he started on a part time basis within the Practice, becoming full time in 1986. He became a partner in the Practice in 1994 when the Practice moved premises and it became known as 'The Church Road Dental Practice'.

From 1995 to 2003 he served as a General Dental Practice Vocational Trainer in the Central and South East schemes.

In 1999 he attained the MFGDP(UK) diploma with the Faculty of General Dental Practice within the Royal College of Surgeons. In the same year he received accreditation for implant dentistry with Branemark.

We pride ourselves on providing a wide range of high standard dentistry utilising the skills and experience of our dentists. We provide a fully comprehensive range of treatments from routine / preventive to advanced /cosmetic and implants.

Our dental team consists of 5 dentists supported by a practice manager, nurses and receptionists all striving to facilitate smooth running of the practice and provide our patients with a friendly, caring, comfortable and efficient dental experience. Next dentist.

Matthew Clark BDS (Wales). Partner in the Church Road Dental Practice

Matthew qualified at the University of Wales College of medicine in 1992. After qualifying Matthew worked at Cardiff dental school where he later became a restorative dental registrar in 1994. He then lived and worked in Australia before returning to Wales and joined the practice in 1996.

Matthew gained his dental implant accreditation in 1998 and became a partner at the practice in 2006. He also practices at a Cardiff clinic providing dental General Anaesthetic Dental services. He is keen to offer the very latest dental techniques available and provide the very highest standards of quality dental care to all his patients. He strives to deliver this in a calm, fun, relaxed and friendly manner. Matthew has a special interest in cosmetic and implant dentistry. Next dentist.

Michael Hedges BDS (Wales) Partner in The Church Road Dental Practice

Mike qualified at the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1998. After qualifying he joined The Church Road Dental Practice and became a partner in 2006. Mike lives in Cardiff, is married and has two young children.

Mike makes it a priority to keep up to date with advances in dentistry, by constant education and attending postgraduate courses, ensuring that patients receive the best dental care possible.

Mike has special interests in preventive, restorative and cosmetic dentistry including facial rejuvenation, wrinkle reduction and whitening. Next dentist.

Victoria Grech BDS (Wales)

Victoria qualified from Bristol university Dental school in 2003, and came back to work at a dental practice in Cardiff.

Following this, Victoria completed a year in a postgraduate training post in hospital and the community dental service.

During this year she attained the MFDS (RCS ENG) qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons.

In 2005 she lived and worked on the sunshine coast in Australia before returning to Cardiff to work.

Victoria now works part time at the Church Road Dental Practice. She also spends one morning a week caring for patients who are housebound with the Cardiff community dental services and practices part time in hospital in the oral surgery and restorative departments.
